Senior Software Engineer, Backend - Full or Part Time

Overview
In this role you will help build a technology platform that serves Autotrader and the wider automotive industry. You will work with public web services and external data to enable scalable, reliable services across many client applications. You’ll contribute to a high-velocity team focused on availability, performance, and delivering fast responses. This is a collaborative environment where engineering excellence and mentorship matter, with a strong emphasis on shaping the platform for growth and impact.
Pay / Benefits- salary 50,000 - 70,000

- Develop and maintain scalable backend services powering Autotrader and external clients
- Ensure high service availability and sub-100 ms response times for thousands of requests per second
- Collaborate through pairing, code reviews and stand-ups to stay aligned with the team
- Support and mentor others, sharing technical expertise and best practices
- In-depth understanding of Java and the JVM
- Knowledge of server-side frameworks such as Spring
- Web application design and RESTful API know-how
- Structured approach to programming and testing (TDD)
