Overview
As a Senior C++ Software Engineer, you own core production software as the product moves from research prototypes to customer deployments. You shape the platform architecture, balancing computational engine, Python backend, CAD integrations and UI. You will optimize performance, including GPU work, while simplifying the codebase for new features and customer integrations. You work closely with researchers and engineers to translate evolving requirements into robust, maintainable capabilities. This role offers significant influence on architectural direction in a small, highly technical team.
Responsibilities- Design and develop production software in C++ in collaboration with researchers and engineers
- Define the platform architecture and clear interfaces between computational engine, Python backend, CAD integrations and UI
- Convert research prototypes into reliable, maintainable product capabilities
- Identify and alleviate performance bottlenecks, including GPU execution where relevant
- Reduce codebase complexity to ease feature addition and customer integrations
- Translate evolving product and research needs into practical technical decisions from design to implementation
- Strong commercial C++ experience with track record in production software
- Experience owning substantial components or end-to-end complex software products
- Sound architectural judgment on interfaces, testing, performance and technical debt
- Ability to work through ambiguous problems and explain trade-offs
- Cross-technology capability, with Python experience useful
- Self-motivated, enjoys working in a small, highly technical team
