In this Senior Software Engineer role, you’ll shape a Debian-based Network Operating System and its routing components within a global networking company. You’ll collaborate with a large engineering team to design and implement scalable network software for service providers, hyperscalers, and enterprises. Responsibilities
  • Design and implement network components and routing protocols for a new Network Operating System product line
  • Drive architectural decisions and software development across a team of ~40 engineers
  • Develop and optimize Debian Linux NOS to support virtualized networks and customers’ deployments
  • Contribute to product evolution for Ethernet and IP services across large-scale customers
Key requirements
  • Technical leadership for significant development or projects, with SME experience
  • Proven ability to write substantial code from scratch in C under Linux
  • Strong interest in Networking and related concepts
  • Solid understanding of data structures and algorithms
  • Knowledge of IP addressing, CIDR, subnets; routing concepts and protocols (BGP, OSPF, IS-IS)
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in C under Linux and open-source development
  • Familiarity with data forwarding paths, L2/L3 networking concepts, or related control plane tech (optional but useful)
  • Experience with debugging and troubleshooting in large-scale deployments
  • Technical leadership
