Senior Software Engineer - Cloud Partner Integrations

Overview

As a founding backend engineer, you will define the technical defaults for a team delivering ClickHouse Cloud integrations across customer environments. You own end-to-end architecture, production systems, and on-call reliability for multi-tenant, secure data movement. You’ll work with partner platforms you don’t control, shaping interfaces and documentation to accelerate momentum. This role offers hands-on influence, cross-functional collaboration, and ownership from day one.

Responsibilities
  • Own end-to-end integration architecture and production systems, including auth/identity, multitenancy, data movement, and performance
  • Run and maintain the deployment, CI, observability, and on-call duties for your work in a growing environment
  • Work with external platforms you cannot modify and clearly delineate risks you own
  • Collaborate with internal teams to define interfaces, unblock progress, and maintain alignment
  • Contribute architectural and policy decisions through documentation and design RFCs
Key requirements
  • 5+ years of software development experience, with substantial data-heavy or integration-focused work
  • Strong backend and systems instincts, including deployment topology and data movement considerations
  • Experience with modern auth protocols, service principals, and identity federation across trust boundaries
  • Experience building on external platforms with imperfect docs and potential breaking changes
  • Ability to ship in ambiguity, make informed decisions under uncertainty, and communicate tradeoffs clearly
  • Comfortable working with other engineers and earning trust across teams
  • Proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript for auxiliary work
  • Experience using AI tools and being transparent about their use
  • Foundational writing skills for design docs, PRs, and RFCs
