Overview

As a Software Engineer on Wayve’s Simulation Technology team, you will evolve core components of a high-fidelity simulation platform used to develop and evaluate driving intelligence. You’ll focus on one of three areas—robot emulator fidelity, visual fidelity, or scalable performance—to deliver accurate, scalable simulations for end users. You’ll collaborate across robotics, research, platform, and data teams to shape production-grade software and drive impactful results in autonomous driving research.

Responsibilities
  • Own KPIs for simulator cost, SLOs, throughput, and latency.
  • Coordinate cross-company dependencies for simulator implementations.
  • Lead technical discussions and steer technical direction.
  • Integrate simulated robot components into the simulation platform.
  • Integrate machine-learned graphics subsystems into the platform.
  • Implement production-quality software in Python.
Key requirements
  • 5+ years of industry experience designing and programming software
  • Excellent Python development skills
  • Deep knowledge of Kubernetes at the user level
  • Experience with workflow orchestration systems (e.g. Airflow, Dagster, Flyte) or data-intensive applications
  • Strong understanding of systems and data-oriented software design for reuse and extensibility
  • Awareness of software performance issues and design tradeoffs
