Senior Software Engineer, Custody Services

As a Senior Software Engineer in Custody Services, you will design and build backend systems that power custody operations, enabling asset transfers, settlements, and account state management. You will work with product, infrastructure, and security to enhance reliability, scalability, and operational excellence in systems where correctness and security are critical. The role is embedded in a London-based team with a strong emphasis on in-person collaboration to accelerate progress. You will help protect asset safety and ensure accurate, trustworthy transactions, contributing to Robinhood’s mission to democratize finance.

• Design and build backend services for custody operations (asset transfers, settlement workflows, account state management)
• Improve system scalability, resiliency, and performance by identifying bottlenecks and applying optimizations
• Maintain and enhance custody-related systems to ensure asset safety, transaction accuracy, and operational integrity

• 5+ years of experience building backend systems in production
• Familiarity with cloud infrastructure, including AWS services
• Experience designing reliable, scalable distributed systems with a focus on correctness and operational excellence
