  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages.
  • 3 years of experience with developing large-scale infrastructure, distributed systems or networks, or experience with compute technologies, storage or hardware architecture.
  • 3 years of experience testing, maintaining, or launching software products, and 1 year of experience with software design and architecture.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience with data pipelines.
  • Knowledge of SQL.
  • Strong understanding and experience with production systems.
  • Ability to manage issues and evolving changes in the areas of software design, integration, and infrastructure.

As a part of the Dependency Tracing Team, a part of the GCPR organization within Platform Reliability Engineering (PRE), you will focus on minimizing outages due to infrastructure failures.

In this role, your mission is to offer capabilities for customers to build reliable workloads, by partnering with Cloud teams to ensure that Google Cloud Platform (GCP) infrastructure and products meet customer expectations and industry standards and that customers have the right features, functionality, and guidance to architect their workloads reliably. Google Cloud accelerates every organization’s ability to digitally transform its business and industry. We deliver enterprise-grade solutions that leverage Google’s technology, and tools that help developers build more sustainably. Customers in more than 200 countries and territories turn to Google Cloud as their trusted partner to enable growth and solve their most critical business problems.

Responsibilities

  • Translate high-level requirements into detailed technical designs, encompassing architecture, data structures, and algorithms.
  • Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code in accordance with established coding standards and best practices.
  • Develop and execute thorough unit, integration, and system tests to ensure code quality and functionality, including automated testing where applicable.
  • Participate in code reviews to provide constructive feedback and ensure adherence to best practices.
  • Document technical specifications, design decisions, and implementation details for future reference and knowledge sharing.
