Senior Software Engineer, Dependency Tracing
Overview
In this role you contribute to Google Cloud Platform by building and refining reliable, scalable systems. You work with cross-functional teams to design architecture, data structures, and algorithms that minimize outages and improve customer workloads. You will code across the stack, write extensive tests, and participate in reviews and documentation to share knowledge. The position offers opportunities to switch teams and tackle new problems in a fast-paced, innovation-driven environment.
Responsibilities- Translate high-level requirements into solid technical designs (architecture, data structures, algorithms)
- Develop clean, maintainable, and efficient code across the stack
- Create and execute unit, integration, and system tests, including automated tests
- Participate in code reviews to uphold quality and best practices
- Document technical specifications, decisions, and implementation details
- Collaborate with Cloud teams to ensure Google Cloud infrastructure and products meet reliability standards
- Help minimize outages by improving infrastructure resilience and reliability for customers
- Contribute to building capabilities that enable customers to architect reliable workloads
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience
- 5 years of software development experience in one or more programming languages
- 3 years of experience with developing large-scale infrastructure, distributed systems, or related compute/storage hardware experience
- 3 years of experience testing, maintaining, or launching software products
- 1 year of experience with software design and architecture
