Overview

In this role you will design and enhance developer tooling and systems infrastructure to speed delivery and reliability for Tower’s trading platform. You will contribute to monorepo-scale build systems and CI/CD pipelines, working cross-functionally with product, platform, and security teams. Your efforts will reduce build times, improve deployment feedback, and strengthen monitoring and reliability practices. This is a hands-on role at a leading quantitative trading firm where engineering excellence directly enables high-performance trading capabilities.

Responsibilities
  • Design, build, and improve developer tooling and systems infrastructure
  • Contribute to monorepo-scale build systems (e.g., Bazel, Buck2, CMake, Rattler/Pixi)
  • Automate developer workflows to enable fast iteration and high reliability
  • Collaborate with product, infrastructure, security, and QA on cross-functional initiatives
  • Enhance CI/CD pipelines, testing frameworks, and deployment automation
  • Implement and integrate monitoring, logging, and alerting for tooling and systems
  • Measure and optimize developer productivity metrics (build speed, deployment cadence, MTTR)
  • Drive performance, scalability, and reliability best practices
  • Provide technical mentorship and help standards and best practices across the team
Key requirements
  • Strong programming skills in C++, Rust, and/or Python
  • 7+ years of software development, infrastructure engineering, or DevOps experience
  • Deep practical experience with large build systems at monorepo scale (Buck2/Bazel/Blaze preferred)
  • Strong Linux/Unix toolchain knowledge with multiple compilers and native code experience
  • Broad experience with DevOps tooling: monorepo, CI/CD, Git, Docker/Podman, Config as Code, IaC
  • Proven ability to optimize performance and scalability in large codebases
  • Systematic troubleshooting skills and cross-team collaboration
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT, or related field
