As a Senior Software Engineer on the Fintech team, you will be instrumental in developing and managing the systems that handle billing processes, which are crucial for generating billions in revenue and supporting millions of customers. You will be involved in rebuilding key components of our billing platform to accommodate new products and services.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain transactional microservices that support billing processes including metering, subscriptions, invoicing, payments, and financial workflows.
- Lead projects from initial requirements gathering and technical design through to implementation, testing, deployment, and ongoing maintenance.
- Create fault-tolerant systems capable of managing retries, failures, concurrency, and high transaction volumes while ensuring financial accuracy.
- Monitor production services, troubleshoot billing issues, enhance observability, and resolve the root causes of recurring problems.
- Participate in architecture reviews, make informed technical decisions, and contribute to the enhancement of engineering standards across the billing platform.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Product, Finance, Accounting, Support, and other engineering groups to translate complex business needs into sustainable solutions.
Requirements
- A minimum of five years of professional experience in software engineering or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience in building and managing distributed systems or backend services in a production environment.
- Proficiency in Go or another modern programming language, with a strong interest in working with Go.
- Solid understanding of RESTful APIs, service security, and API standards such as OpenAPI, OAuth, or JWT.
- Familiarity with SQL, data modeling, and relational databases like PostgreSQL or MySQL.
- Experience in designing secure, highly available microservices within Linux or Unix environments.
- Knowledge of event-driven architectures and asynchronous processing.
- Strong skills in troubleshooting, communication, and project ownership.
