Senior Software Engineer, Full-Stack Applications - Ratings Technology (Manchester)

Senior Software Engineer in Fitch Ratings’ Ratings Technology team leads the design and delivery of scalable full‑stack applications. You influence architecture, drive AI/ML exploration, and mentor engineers to enable analysts and leadership to make smarter decisions. • Design robust, scalable full‑stack applications using Java/Springboot, C#/.NET, Python and React
• Drive architectural decisions and establish technical standards across teams
• Lead exploration of AI/ML integration to transform analytical workflows
• Mentor engineers and collaborate with product managers and analysts
• Implement CI/CD pipelines and conduct architecture reviews
• Address performance and scalability challenges and ensure quality at scale
• Shape team processes and drive strategic technical initiatives across multiple teams
• Ensure reliability and manage complex issues in fast-paced Agile environments

• 10+ years hands-on experience building enterprise applications
• Expert-level proficiency in Java/Springboot and/or C#/.NET; familiarity with Python and React in production
• Strong understanding of software architecture, design patterns, data structures, and algorithms
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
• Proven ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and influence technical direction
