Overview

As a Senior Software Engineer in the Cross-Asset Trading System (CATS) team, you will build and evolve a scalable, high-performance platform used by Bloomberg trading applications. You’ll contribute to both frontend and backend, shaping architecture and data pipelines that power fast, reliable trading workflows. You work closely with product managers and cross-functional teams to deliver reusable, business-agnostic software that handles large data volumes. Responsibilities
  • Lead critical projects and shape the future of trading technology across multiple applications
  • Collaborate with product managers and engineering teams across Bloomberg
  • Design and build reusable, business-agnostic software for high-volume platforms
  • Develop and deploy frontend and backend systems with complex state and data pipelines
  • Implement and maintain robust, scalable features that perform under pressure
  • Contribute to inner-source initiatives and support platform users
  • Flesh out requirements, design, and release features while maintaining stability
  • Mentor junior engineers and promote knowledge sharing
  • Drive adoption of new technologies and improve development practices
  • Take ownership of outcomes and communicate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Key requirements
  • 3+ years of professional software engineering experience
  • Experience with modern programming languages and a desire to become a JavaScript/TypeScript expert
  • Strong software engineering mindset focused on quality and correctness
  • Good communication skills to explain technical problems to non-technical stakeholders
  • Desire to learn, understand, and scale existing systems and share knowledge
