Overview

As a Senior Backend Engineer, you will design and scale cloud-native backend services in Golang to power enterprise AI and GenAI initiatives for a global banking environment. You’ll build reusable blueprints, enable LLMOps, and deliver secure, scalable microservices across hybrid clouds. Your work defines backend standards and accelerates platform adoption across business units while supporting responsible GenAI use. You’ll join a mission-driven team delivering high-performance, observable systems that enable safe AI at scale. This role offers meaningful impact shaping how AI platforms serve large-scale financial operations.

Responsibilities
  • Design and maintain high-performance Golang services within microservices architectures
  • Develop enterprise-grade AI platform capabilities including LLMOps, deployment, inference, prompts, observability and governance
  • Create reusable backend blueprints and reference architectures
  • Build globally scalable systems with low latency and mission-critical reliability
  • Architect backend services for hybrid cloud environments across public clouds and private data centres
  • Collaborate with platform teams to optimize scalability, resilience, and operations
  • Embed security controls across the application lifecycle (security in app, API, service-to-service, CI/CD, infrastructure)
  • Implement event-driven architectures using Kafka and develop data services with MongoDB and other enterprise data platforms
  • Advance observability and reliability with Prometheus, OpenTelemetry, and Grafana; drive SRE practices and incident prevention
Key requirements
  • Golang backend development
  • Experience with distributed microservices

  • Experience with Kubernetes and OpenShift
  • Security-focused software development and governance
  • LLMOps or AI platform experience is a plus
