Senior Software Engineer I - Cash Management

As a Senior Product Engineer at Wise for Banks, you will help design and scale the global payment network by delivering resilient, high-availability microservices. You’ll partner with Implementation, Solutions Engineering, and Product teams to enable seamless partner integrations and expand the network. You’ll work across domains with Java, Spring Boot, Kafka, and PostgreSQL to support rapid growth and a world‑class money transfers platform. This role offers mentorship and a chance to shape cor-respondent banking services while driving cross‑team collaboration.

• Design, develop, and maintain highly scalable Java/Spring Boot services in a microservices architecture
• Apply domain-driven design to build robust, scalable solutions
• Lead development in event-driven architectures using Kafka or similar systems
• Architect and optimise PostgreSQL schemas and queries for performance and data integrity
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support partner integrations and global expansion
• Participate in code reviews and promote best coding practices; mentor junior engineers

• Extensive experience with Java and Spring Boot for backend services
• Strong expertise in microservices architecture and event-driven design
• Hands-on experience with Kafka or similar messaging systems
• Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL or relational databases; design schemas, optimise queries
• Proficiency in domain-driven design (DDD) is a plus
• Strong product mindset with user-centric, data-driven decision making
• Excellent problem-solving and ability to work independently or in a team
• Strong communication skills able to convey technical concepts to varied audiences
