In this role you own delivering high-quality software for Rightmove’s user-facing product teams, enabling frequent, safe production deployments. You collaborate across cross-functional squads to build scalable features and advocate for test automation. You’ll contribute to roadmap shaping, mentoring, and continuous improvement, working in an agile environment to serve millions of users and real estate professionals. Responsibilities
  • Design and deliver features using TypeScript, React, Node.js, Express, Kubernetes, and GitLab
  • Collaborate with cross-functional partners to build scalable solutions
  • Contribute to sprint planning and influence feature prioritisation
  • Participate in engineering forums and initiatives promoting best practices
  • Share knowledge and mentor others to foster an inclusive learning culture
  • Provide clear estimates for user stories to support planning
  • Engage in constructive code reviews and uphold high-quality engineering practices
  • Explore emerging technologies to enhance the platform and developer experience
  • Operate effectively in an Agile environment with collaboration and iterative improvement
Key requirements
  • Proven experience in a user-facing product team
  • Hands-on experience with TDD and tools like Jest and React Testing Library
  • Values clean, maintainable code and open to different approaches
  • Experience mentoring engineers and supporting team growth
  • May have experience with modern Angular and/or Java (bonus)
  • Willingness to work across boundaries and contribute across the stack
  • Curious about user interactions and focused on performance and usability
  • Open to modern technologies and continuous improvement
  • Comfortable asking questions and sharing ideas in a collaborative setting
