Overview

As Senior Software Engineer II at Carta, you will lead technically complex projects that scale our private capital platform. You’ll simplify architectures, mentor peers, and collaborate with product and design to deliver user-focused solutions. You will drive production-grade implementations with performance and reliability in mind. You’ll work with Python, Django, React, Postgres, Kafka, and AWS to solve high-ambiguity problems and advance Carta Law initiatives.

Responsibilities
  • Drive implementation of complex technical projects from concept to production
  • Simplify systems by reducing code complexity and infrastructure debt with measurable business impact
  • Leverage modern tooling to improve code quality and accelerate delivery
  • Foster growth through mentorship, PR reviews, and architectural guidance
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with product and design to build user-focused solutions
Key requirements
  • 8+ years of professional software engineering experience
  • Proficiency with Python, Django, React, Postgres, and Kafka; familiarity with Java, gRPC, and AWS
  • Ability to break down complex user stories into actionable tasks with minimal guidance
  • Strategic mindset with ability to articulate technical trade-offs to stakeholders
