Senior Software Engineer II - Backend (Java) - Account Sharing

In this role, you will join the Account Sharing team to shape new cross-border finance products for consumers. You’ll design and deliver scalable backend systems that enable international joint and kid accounts, helping people manage money together across countries. You’ll work closely with product, design, data, and research teams to turn ideas into reliable financial experiences used by millions, while influencing technical direction and product strategy. This greenfield environment offers meaningful impact at scale and a chance to advance Wise’s global consumer finance vision.

• Build international joint accounts and kid accounts for global users
• Create shared finance experiences that work across borders
• Design scalable backend systems for high-growth consumer products
• Develop features for shared spending and money transfers and account customization
• Collaborate on customer discovery and product iteration
• Scale infrastructure and reliability across multiple markets
• Build greenfield financial products from concept to production
• Work across Wise ecosystem areas: send/receive money flows, spend experiences, authorization, FinCrime, shared account infrastructure

• Ability to build scalable distributed systems delivering consumer-facing products used by millions
• Proficiency in Java, Kotlin, Python, or Go
• Experience with asynchronous, reliable, scalable microservice architectures
• Comfort in greenfield environments with evolving requirements
• Strong product mindset and close collaboration with product, design, analysts, and researchers
• Customer-centric approach and awareness of how technical decisions affect users
