In this role you will shape the backend forWise's recipient management experience, enabling users to add, find and manage counterparties at scale. You join an autonomous, cross-functional team spanning Tallinn and London, focused on delivering a reliable, end-to-end recipient platform. You’ll scale the product, influence technical direction, and collaborate with product, design and analytics to improve customer experience. Responsibilities- Drive the technical vision for the backend powering the recipient user experience
- Scale and build a world-class recipient management product
- Design, deploy, and maintain clean RESTful APIs
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (product, design, analysts)
- Follow best coding practices, conduct code reviews, and provide open feedback
- Write testable code with Test Driven Development
- Work with large-scale distributed systems
- Optimize queries and design data schemas for relational and non-relational databases
- Java 8+ knowledge
- Experience with large-scale distributed systems
- Experience with relational and non-relational databases, query optimisation and schema design
- Strong product mindset with customer-focused, data-driven decision making
- Collaborative, team-oriented and able to bring people together to solve problems
- Experience designing, deploying and maintaining RESTful APIs
