Senior Software Engineer II - Fraud Squad - Account Integrity (Java)

As a Senior Software Engineer in the Account Integrity team, you help protect Wise customers by building robust fraud prevention and security controls. You’ll own end-to-end projects that strengthen account security, while contributing to a globally scalable money-move platform. You’ll work across backend and frontend to increase automation and deliver real-world impact on customer safety and product growth. This role combines hands-on engineering with a product mindset to reduce financial crime and meet regulatory expectations. You’ll thrive in a cross-functional, fast-moving environment that values innovation and collaboration.

• Build and refine critical controls to protect customer accounts from takeovers
• Lead backend and frontend work for crime prevention and detection systems (80% backend, 20% frontend)
• Deliver tangible impact by securing customer funds, accelerating product growth through automation, and supporting a world-class money transfer product

• Java or other JVM-based languages (Spring)
• Experience designing and operating CI/CD pipelines, distributed and concurrent systems
• Strong product mindset with data-driven decision making and customer focus
• Experience with relational and non-relational databases, including query optimization and resilient schemas
• Commitment to Test Driven Development and high coding quality
• Excellent communication skills across Product, Data Science, and Investigations teams
