Overview

As a Senior Software Engineer on the Wise Platform KYC Experience team, you help shape critical onboarding and identity verification APIs for partner integrations. You will own public-facing APIs, drive domain roadmaps, and design scalable microservices to support compliant, seamless onboarding with partners like Google and Agoda. You’ll lead cross-team initiatives, mentor engineers, and ensure reliability, performance, and security. This is your chance to influence world-class embedded KYC and payment experiences at scale.

Responsibilities
  • Design and build public-facing APIs for Wise Platform and partners
  • Own and drive technical roadmaps at squad/tribe level
  • Architect robust, scalable microservices using event-driven patterns
  • Influence product roadmap and cross-functional strategy
  • Lead cross-team initiatives delivering new features and partner value
  • Mentor engineers through code reviews and best practices
Key requirements
  • Strong foundation in Java or other JVM language
  • Experience with Spring framework
  • Microservices design and operation experience
  • Event-driven architecture and distributed systems knowledge
  • Hands-on Kafka or similar messaging systems
  • Relational and non-relational databases with optimization and data lifecycle management for sensitive data
  • Product-minded with data-driven decision making
  • Experience leading cross-team initiatives and strong communication skills
