In this role you will lead AI-first automation and enterprise tooling at Roku, shaping the infrastructure that powers engineering productivity across global teams. You’ll own architecture and long-term execution of automation platforms, SDLC tooling, and AI-assisted workflows to improve delivery speed, quality, security, and cost efficiency. This is a highly visible, cross-functional leadership position requiring hands-on technical influence and strategic roadmapping. You’ll partner with Engineering, Product, Security, and Partners to scale platforms for 24/7 global operations.

- Define and drive an AI-first automation roadmap for Engineering Infrastructure and Enterprise Tooling
- Architect and ship AI/LLM-enabled workflow automation across the SDLC (build, test, deployment, risk assessment, intelligent test selection, change-impact analysis)
- Establish AI usage policies and guardrails (data handling, logging, model/provider selection, fallback, abuse prevention)
- Set technical direction for globally used developer tools including build systems, source control, and release strategy
- Design and evolve CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, Docker, Build Systems such as Bazel/BitBake/Yocto) for multi-site environments
- Own and scale test/quality workflows with TestRail or similar, enabling traceability and release sign-off across distributed teams
- Lead Jira workflow design and automation for cross-organization visibility and execution
- Design and implement cross-functional automation spanning Engineering, Product, Marketing, and Partners
- Replace manual coordination with durable automation across regions/time zones
- Embed secure-by-default controls in pipelines and tooling (access, secrets, audit, policy enforcement)
- Improve build/test performance and reliability using KPIs and operational rigor
- Drive cost efficiencies in tooling/infrastructure (compute, caching, licensing, AI/runtime costs)
- Provide long-term roadmaps, runbooks/SLOs, and incident/postmortem practices for 24/7 operations
- Mentor senior engineers and drive cross-team architecture adoption
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- Experience at Staff/Principal/Architect level
- Ownership of platform/infrastructure, developer productivity, CI/CD, build systems, or workflow automation across global teams
- Hands-on knowledge of Git workflows and release management
- Proficiency with Jenkins for CI/CD and scaling pipelines
- Experience with Docker containers and reproducible build/test execution
- Experience with build systems (itBake/Yocto preferred)
- Familiarity with Jira, including workflow design and automation
- Experience with test management systems (e.g., TestRail)
- Demonstrated success delivering automation at scale used by multiple teams
- Strong systems thinking across security, reliability, performance, and cost tradeoffs
- Excellent written communication (architecture docs, decision records, operating procedures)
- Experience building AI-assisted developer tooling (CI insights, test intelligence, code review automation)
- Experience implementing evaluation/monitoring for AI systems (quality metrics, drift, offline tests)
- Extensive experience with embedded Linux, multi-process architectures and IPC
- Ability to influence large cross-functional teams without direct reporting lines
- Ability to manage multiple projects and distributed teams under tight deadlines
