In this Senior Software Engineer role you will contribute hands-on to the Information Systems team, building production tools used across game development. You will help design scalable backend systems and APIs that support fast-paced development at Rockstar. You’ll collaborate with cross-studio tech teams to advance tools and platforms, learning new technologies as needed. This is a chance to shape how development teams create world-class entertainment at scale in an inclusive, high-momentum environment.
Responsibilities- Design and implement solutions for fast-paced game development
- Contribute to the team’s software design guidelines
- Collaborate with Rockstar technology teams across studios
- Develop understanding of used systems and learn new technologies to advance applications
- 5+ years of professional Java backend development
- Strong command of Java (low-level to high-level)
- Deep expertise in Spring Boot ecosystem and JPA/Hibernate
- Experience designing and scaling RESTful APIs
- Solid MySQL (or major RDBMS) with query-tuning
- Hands-on Apache Kafka and CDC pipelines
- Proficient in Java performance profiling and debugging
- Linux proficiency with strong communication and production-support skills
