Senior Software Engineer, Java

As a Senior Technical Lead in Roku’s Enterprise Engineering team, you’ll shape scalable platform services that automate critical business workflows. You’ll drive architecture, own delivery of large-scale web apps and microservices, and partner with security and compliance to meet audits. You’ll work across finance, HR, and other domains, continuously improving engineering tools and cloud technologies. • Design and deploy scalable web applications and services across the stack
• Lead architecture discussions and own project delivery with tight timelines
• Collaborate with security/compliance to meet requirements
• Continually improve engineering tools, cloud services, and processes
• Define and participate in Agile processes including design, estimation, coding, testing, and maintenance
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and communicate effectively

• 5+ years delivering multi-tier, scalable web applications
• Strong software architecture understanding and OO design
• Proven experience with microservices in Java and Python
• Test-driven development and automated testing in Java/Python
• SQL/NoSQL database design (Oracle, Cassandra)
• Proactive, self-driven with business-minded trade-offs
• Excellent verbal and written communication
• BS or MS in Computer Science or equivalent
• Experience with Hive/Hadoop, Apache Spark
• Experience with AWS services (Elastic Beanstalk, EC2, S3, CloudFront, RDS, DynamoDB, VPC, Elastic Cache, Lambda)
• Terraform experience
