Overview

In this role you will design and implement production software tools to support fast-paced game development. You will collaborate with global Rockstar technology teams and contribute to reusable design guidelines. You’ll learn new technologies to advance Rockstar’s tooling and applications. This is a hands-on, in-office position in Dundee, offering an opportunity to impact game creation at scale while working in an inclusive, motivated environment.

Responsibilities
  • Design and implement solutions to meet fast-paced game development challenges
  • Contribute to the team’s software design guidelines
  • Collaborate with Rockstar technology teams across worldwide studios
  • Develop a strong understanding of current systems and learn new technologies to advance applications
Key requirements
  • 3+ years of professional Java backend development
  • Strong Java proficiency from low-level optimization to high-level architecture
  • Deep expertise in Spring Boot and JPA/Hibernate
  • Proven experience designing and scaling RESTful APIs
  • Solid MySQL (or other major RDBMS) with query-tuning
  • Hands-on Apache Kafka and CDC pipelines
  • Proficient in Java performance profiling and debugging
  • Comfortable in Linux environments with solid production-support skills
