Senior Software Engineer - Java, AWS

As a Senior Software Engineer on Roku’s Enterprise Engineering team, you design and build scalable web applications and services that power core business processes. You influence architecture and drive projects from inception to deployment in a distributed, multi-tier environment. You collaborate with security, compliance, and cross-functional teams to meet audit and governance requirements. You will help shape tooling, cloud-native tech, and development practices while leveraging AI-assisted workflows to accelerate delivery.

• Design, develop, and deploy scalable web apps and services powering critical business processes
• Lead architecture discussions and own new projects with high-quality delivery within tight timelines
• Collaborate with security and compliance teams to meet audit and security requirements
• Contribute to tooling, cloud technologies, and development processes improvements
• Define and participate in Agile processes including design, estimation, coding, testing, and maintenance
• Work with cross-functional teams and communicate effectively
• Develop and maintain microservices using modern frameworks and cloud-native tech
• Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) workflows to enable reliable deployments

• 5+ years delivering multi-tier, highly scalable distributed web applications
• Deep knowledge of software architecture, OOP, and data structures
• Strong experience with test-driven development and test automation
• Extensive experience developing microservices
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) workflows
• Proactive, self-driven with practical trade-off decisions
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or equivalent
• Finance applications experience is a plus
• Terraform experience is a plus
• Apache Airflow workflows experience is a plus
