As a Senior Software Engineer, Embedded at Roku, you contribute to core features for the Roku Channel app and Roku OS. You work with cross-functional teams to extend features for international markets and ensure high-quality, reliable software on embedded devices. You will implement algorithms and UI components using modern C++ and scripting languages, while shaping the architecture behind scalable streaming experiences. • Develop core features of the Roku Channel app and Roku OS
• Collaborate with Product Development, UI/UX, Platform Services, and Release Management teams
• Investigate, diagnose and resolve issues
• Contribute to tool development to support the broader Roku development community
• Produce high-quality, tested software for embedded platforms

• Strong C++ experience
• UI development experience with frameworks like JavaScript, BrightScript or similar
• Proficiency in Typescript
• Embedded systems software development experience
• Experience writing functional integration and unit tests
• Understanding of memory management and multi-threading
• Understanding of API design and trade-offs
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Bachelor in Computer Science or related fields (MS optional)
• Consumer electronics experience building Media/Content and/or Ad product beneficial
