Senior Software Engineer, Live

As a Senior Software Engineer at Roku, you will contribute to embedded UI development and core platform features for the Roku Channel app and Roku OS. You’ll collaborate with product, design, and platform teams to extend features for international markets, using modern C++ and TypeScript, and integrate third-party code. You’ll build tools to support a larger Roku developer community and deliver high-quality, reliable software on embedded hardware. • Develop core features of the Roku Channel app and Roku OS
• Collaborate with Product Development, UI/UX, Platform Services, and Release Management teams
• Investigate, diagnose and resolve issues
• Develop UI applications using popular frameworks
• Contribute to embedded UI and algorithm implementation for intuitive user experiences
• Build tools to support internal and external development communities
• Ship high-quality software on embedded platforms

• Strong embedded C++ experience
• Strong experience in TypeScript
• Experience writing functional integration and unit tests
• Understanding of core OS concepts like memory management and multi-threading
• Understanding of API design and trade-offs
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Experience in streaming or consumer electronics optional benefit
• Bachelor or Master in Computer Science or related fields
