Overview

In this role you will help build and evolve Bloomberg's real-time market data system, focusing on correctness, performance, and availability. You will work within the Ticker Plant team to design, implement, and operate scalable components that support high-volume financial events. You will engage across teams to ensure production readiness and instrument tooling for self-service and incident response. This is a mission-driven opportunity to influence the reliability and evolution of a core financial technology platform.

Responsibilities
  • Write and debug production-grade code interfacing with system components
  • Collaborate with component teams to design robust interfaces and workflows
  • Develop dashboards and self-service tooling to monitor load and latency
  • Contribute to production readiness and incident response capabilities
  • Analyze system behavior to diagnose and prevent production issues
  • Ensure features are maintainable in production with minimal operational load
  • Shape system designs to improve fault tolerance and performance
Key requirements
  • Experience with an object-oriented programming language (C/C++, Python, Java)
  • Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, similar field or equivalent work experience
  • Contributions to system design and architecture and scaling fault-tolerant distributed systems
