Overview

In this role you will shape the mobile play experience strategy across LEGO by guiding architecture and development practices for cross-platform apps. You’ll work to extend both modern cross-platform solutions and legacy Unity applications, ensuring scalable, maintainable software that supports LEGO’s digital play experiences. You’ll collaborate with design, QA, and product teams to deliver high-quality, delightful user experiences for children and families. A strong focus on architecture, testing, and release processes will help the team move faster with confidence. This is an opportunity to influence how LEGO builds and scales mobile products that users love and trust.

Responsibilities
  • Design, architect, and maintain scalable cross-platform mobile apps for LEGO consumers
  • Lead app architecture decisions and platform strategy for long-term scalability
  • Evolve legacy Unity applications with new features and support upcoming products
  • Collaborate with UI/UX designers to deliver high-quality user experiences
  • Ensure code quality, testing, automation, and reliable release processes
  • Mentor engineers on architectural patterns and modern cross-platform frameworks
  • Partner with QA and Consumer Service teams to improve performance and satisfaction
Key requirements
  • Hands-on production experience with Unity or similar cross-platform framework (Flutter, React Native, KMP)
  • Strong software engineering fundamentals: architecture, OOP, testing, debugging, performance optimization
  • Experience designing scalable, maintainable mobile app architectures
  • Experience modernizing legacy codebases while maintaining stability
  • Ability to collaborate across engineering, QA, design, and product teams
  • Understanding of code quality practices, automated testing, CI/CD, and release processes
  • Significant software engineering experience in mobile or cross-platform apps
