Overview
In this role you will help evolve Ebury’s core transactional platform for global, multi-currency payments. You will own end-to-end development and production health for services handling funds flows, collaborating with a distributed team across regions. You’ll lead technical initiatives, mentor engineers, and shape a resilient, scalable fintech system. The opportunity combines architecture, hands-on coding, and cross-functional collaboration to deliver a seamless payment experience at scale.

Responsibilities
- Architect and deliver the next iteration of the global platform, focusing on cross-border payments and international fund collections.
- Own the services you build from design through deployment and production health.
- Lead product initiatives end-to-end, translating financial requirements into technical solutions.
- Mentor and coach engineers, promoting high standards and continuous learning.
- Collaborate with globally distributed teams to design modular services and components.
Key requirements
- Proven experience designing and maintaining large, highly available systems with strong code quality and testability.
- Hands-on payments/fintech/banking experience, including transactional consistency and multi-currency handling.
- Tech-agnostic mindset with proficiency in at least one backend language; experience with distributed architectures, asynchronous messaging, and relational databases.
- Production and observability focus: API development, external system integrations, monitoring and alerting.
- Strong communication in English with ability to explain complex ideas to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
