Overview

In this role, you will design and build Python-based AI/ML features and data-driven applications that integrate into our product ecosystem. You will own end-to-end development—from robust code and tests to APIs and model deployment—aligning with business goals. You’ll collaborate with data scientists and DevOps to scale solutions, monitor model performance, and ensure quality through automation. The role offers impact through deploying AI in airline retail contexts and shaping scalable systems.

Responsibilities
  • Design and maintain ML-enabled software components and data processing
  • Develop clean Python backend logic and ML model integration
  • Build and optimize data pipelines for training and analytics
  • Create robust RESTful APIs/microservices (FastAPI/Flask) with security and scalability
  • Write tests with PyTest; conduct UI testing with Selenium as needed
  • Collaborate with DevOps to implement CI/CD pipelines
  • Containerise applications (Docker) and assist in orchestration (Kubernetes/cloud)
  • Work with data scientists to deploy models to production and optimize inference
  • Monitor model performance and quality post-deployment
  • Keep up-to-date with Python, AI/ML developments and contribute to architectural decisions
  • Mentor Junior Engineers
Key requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; Master’s in AI/ML is a plus
  • 8 years of experience as a Software Engineer on large software applications
  • Proficiency in Python, REST, PyTorch, TensorFlow, Docker, FastAPI, Selenium, React, TypeScript, Redux, GraphQL, Kafka, Apache Spark
  • Experience with DynamoDB, DocumentDB, MongoDB
  • Expertise in unit testing (PyTest, JUnit, Mockito) and Selenium for QA
  • Strong PyData stack knowledge (pandas, NumPy, Jupyter, Matplotlib/Seaborn)
  • Experience with CI/CD, Git (Bitbucket), Jenkins
  • Knowledge of design patterns and software architectures
  • Strong problem-solving and teamwork skills
