Senior Software Engineer, Prime

In this role you will own the end-to-end delivery of features for Robinhood’s Prime brokerage platform, spanning backend services, frontend, and backoffice tooling. You will lead engineers, set a high technical bar for failure handling, and address problems across the institutional lifecycle. The position requires flexibility to own components across settlement, onboarding, lending, and client-facing dashboards. This London-based role includes an on-call rotation and in-person collaboration to accelerate progress and impact.

• Lead design and end-to-end delivery across the stack (backend settlement, credit, lending, tokenized securities through to frontend and backoffice)
• Own client- and ops-facing journeys across onboarding, account configuration, reporting, and operations tooling
• Draft detailed designs, specify failure states and invariants, and plan recovery before shipping
• Mentor engineers and lead design-focused code reviews, transitioning smoothly between backend and frontend as needed
• Participate in on-call rotation to support business needs

• Track record delivering complex, high-ambiguity projects in production and owning all code shipped
• Strong full-stack production experience with Python/Django and Go backend and Vue frontend
• Hands-on experience building financial systems (balances, ledgers, risk engines, settlement, onboarding/KYC, payments) with high accuracy
• Strong design judgment: enumerate failure paths, name invariants, and specify enforcement via tests/alerts
• Excellent communication and ability to align multiple teams and stakeholders, plus mentoring abilities
