Senior Software Engineer - Prism - Security

As a Senior Engineer on Elastic's Prism Team, you shape systems that transform Security’s raw data into a trustworthy view of users, hosts, and services. You work with product, design, and engineering to turn ambiguous problems into reliable, scalable solutions for security teams. The role blends data modeling, performance tuning, and API work to deliver fast, correct results at scale. You’ll collaborate across Elastic Security, Kibana, Elasticsearch/ES|QL, and Support to ship impactful features. This is a hands-on, distributed, cross-functional opportunity to influence security analytics at a global scale.

• Own small-to-medium projects from technical design through production, including data modeling, background tasks, and APIs
• Profile and optimize queries, tame timeouts, and design for a range of customer topologies to keep features fast and reliable at scale
• Write high-quality TypeScript and React code, with Node.js services and APIs where needed
• Build telemetry, tests, and safeguards so systems behave predictably in production
• Review code, support teammates, and improve team practices
• Partner with teams across Elastic Security, Kibana, Elasticsearch/ES|QL, and Support

• Several years of experience building and maintaining production software
• Deep TypeScript and JavaScript skills, especially with React and Node.js
• Successfully led projects from conception to deployment
• Proven track record of using AI to accelerate development, debug complex systems, and optimize code, while owning final outcomes
• Ability to collaborate across functions and teams and shift between projects/codebases/teams based on priorities
• Autonomous work style and strong, asynchronous communication in a distributed team
