Senior Software Engineer, Python (IPLM)

As a Senior Software Engineer on the IPLM team, you will own end-to-end features across the CLI and PiCache. You will collaborate with the API/server team and support groups to resolve customer issues. The role blends product features, systems engineering, and AI-assisted development practices. You will shape command-line tooling for IP, workspace, release, and snapshot workflows, and explore AI-enabled workflows that fit into the daily development process.

• Design and ship user-facing pi commands and subcommands for IP/workspace/release/update/snapshot workflows
• Extend the CLI data-management layer with integration to Perforce, SVN and Git
• Diagnose and fix regressions in the CLI's integration and unit test frameworks
• Prototype and productionize AI-assisted development workflows (agent-based QA loops, automated implementation workflows) for day-to-day development
• Collaborate with the server team (API and database) and support teams to resolve customer errors

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience
• Strong Python experience for command-line tooling (argument parsing, subcommands, JSON output, machine-readable errors)
• Experience with version control systems (Perforce and Git)
• Solid testing practice (unit and integration tests)
• Comfort with Perforce/Helix Core environment or willingness to learn
• Clear written communication to document design decisions
• Comfort with Linux and bash scripting
