Senior Software Engineer (Python/Kotlin)

Senior Software Engineer | Belfast | Remote First

MCS Group is partnering with a US-founded and backed cybersecurity software company to recruit a Senior Software Engineer for its growing Belfast team.

The company builds technology that helps organisations identify vulnerabilities and protect mobile devices. You'll join a small, collaborative engineering team with the energy and ownership of a startup, supported by an established US business.

The role

This is a backend-focused full stack position, working across web applications, APIs and cloud services. The existing stack includes Python, Kotlin, React and AWS, with varied projects and opportunities to work across different technologies.

You’ll:

• Build and improve backend services, APIs and web applications.
• Contribute to technical design and project delivery.
• Work independently while collaborating closely with the wider engineering team.
• Take on frontend development where projects require it.

What you'll bring

• Around 4+ years' software engineering experience , operating at Senior level.
• Strong backend development skills and experience building APIs.
• Some frontend experience, or a willingness to develop your skills in this area.
• The confidence to get up to speed quickly and contribute to delivery.
• A flexible, collaborative approach to working across technologies.

Experience with React or Kotlin would be beneficial. Strong engineering fundamentals and a willingness to learn are key.
