Overview

In this role, you will join Wise’s Recommend team in London to evolve and scale the recommendation platform and rewards. You’ll build systems, APIs and product experiences that welcome new customers and support first international money needs. Collaborating with cross‑functional teams, you’ll shape the customer onboarding and referral journeys to be clear, easy and delightful. This is a chance to impact millions of users globally while growing Wise’s recommendation ecosystem.

Responsibilities
  • Evolve and scale the recommendation platform and reward mechanisms
  • Build systems and APIs for the onboarding and referral journeys
  • Collaborate with product managers, data scientists, data analysts, and engineers to improve customer experience
  • Contribute to testing strategies (unit and integration testing) and ensure code quality through best practices
  • Own end-to-end delivery of projects and drive them to meet goals
Key requirements
  • 5+ years of experience in Java or Kotlin (or other JVM-based language)
  • Strong experience with Spring framework, relational databases, distributed and concurrent systems (Kafka)
  • Proven ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams daily
  • Experience writing testable code and testing strategies (unit/integration)
  • Strong communication skills and ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences
  • Ability to work independently with customer-focused decision making and ownership
