SENIOR DATA ENGINEER
UK | Hybrid / Remote

We’re looking for a Senior Data Engineer to join a growing Data and AI team, delivering modern data platforms and services across the public sector.

You’ll take a hands‑on role designing, building and maintaining scalable data solutions, while working closely with clients and supporting the development of other engineers.

THE ROLE

• Build and maintain scalable data platforms and pipelines
• Develop solutions using Python and AWS, Azure or GCP
• Work across ETL/ELT, batch and streaming data
• Build and work with data lakes and data warehouses
• Implement data quality, unit and integration testing
• Use Git, CI/CD and Terraform
• Implement monitoring, logging and alerting
• Work with technologies such as Airflow, AWS Glue, Pandas, Pydantic and Parquet
• Work directly with clients and technical stakeholders
• Mentor and support other engineers

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

• Strong commercial experience in Data Engineering
• Strong Python skills
• Experience with AWS, Azure or GCP
• Understanding of ETL/ELT and modern data architectures
• Experience with SQL and database technologiesKnowledge of CI/CD, Git and Infrastructure as Code
• Experience with automated testing and data quality
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
• Desirable: Consultancy or public sector experience, Docker, Airflow, machine learning/data science, geospatial data and pair/mob programming.

CLEARANCE

Due to the nature of the projects, SC clearance is required, including the relevant UK residency and employment history requirements.
