Overview

In this role you design, develop and support customer-facing Windows desktop applications to control experiments and process data for scientific instrumentation. You will work within the Software Applications portfolio to deliver robust software across multiple products, interfacing with hardware and enabling advanced visualization and analysis. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure high-quality, maintainable solutions that empower researchers and engineers. You’ll apply your expertise to solve complex instrument control and data workflows in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and maintain Windows desktop applications using C# and .NET
  • Contribute to multiple product projects within the Software Applications portfolio
  • Develop software that interfaces with scientific instrumentation and hardware for experiment control
  • Implement data acquisition, processing, storage and analysis solutions
  • Contribute to data visualization capabilities including 3D/4D rendering and imaging
  • Investigate and resolve defects and performance issues
  • Participate in architecture discussions and technical decision-making
  • Write clean, testable code and engage in code reviews
  • Collaborate with engineers, product managers and domain experts to deliver high-quality solutions
  • Support releases, deployment, and ongoing maintenance
  • Share knowledge through collaboration and peer review
  • Occasional travel to other offices and customer sites
Key requirements
  • Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related technical discipline or equivalent professional experience
  • At least 5 years' experience in commercial software development
  • Significant hands-on experience developing applications using C# and .NET
  • Proven experience delivering software through the full software development lifecycle
  • Experience working within Agile software development teams
  • Experience developing and supporting commercial desktop software applications
