Overview

In this Senior Software Engineer role, you will design and build Palantir’s managed Kubernetes offerings across on-prem and cloud environments. You’ll help automate and scale a fleet of Kubernetes clusters, contributing to CNCF components and ensuring security across diverse hosting types. The position emphasizes reliability, automation, and self-healing systems at scale, within a culture that values engineering rigor. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to evolve Palantir’s infrastructure and tooling, addressing complex multi-environment challenges. This is an opportunity to shape core infrastructure for a world-changing data platform.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver a container runtime for diverse environments (cloud, on-prem, edge)
  • Automate operations of Kubernetes at scale with zero manual steps
  • Adopt and contribute to CNCF tooling and upstream features
  • Design next-gen infrastructure informed by internal systems and CNCF standards
Key requirements
  • 4+ years of professional software development on core infrastructure
  • 2+ years of system design/architecture experience for new/existing systems
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent
  • Go, C/C++ or equivalent
  • Terraform, Ansible, Puppet or Kubernetes operators
  • Go/Javascript/Java proficiency for automation
  • Docker and Kubernetes expertise
  • Cloud experience (AWS/Azure/GCE) or data-center SRE
  • observability/infrastructure systems
