Senior Software Engineer, UI Infrastructure

In this role, you contribute to Roku’s embedded UI framework, shaping features and tools that improve stability and performance for millions of users. You work closely with system architects and cross-functional teams to extend tooling and pipelines, delivering reliable software on embedded platforms. You’ll translate ideas into practical, high-quality code and contribute to the broader developer community within Roku. This is a high-visibility position with meaningful business impact.

• Build and maintain tooling to improve data quality and consistency of data from Roku OS logging
• Develop and evolve offline pipelines that process logs for initiatives like pre-merge validation in Firmware CI and automated data contract generation
• Write and review C++ changes in embedded codebases to ensure logging is accurate, reliable, and usable downstream
• Create Python-based tooling and automation to extract, analyze, and validate log usage across large codebases
• Partner with engineers across UI infrastructure, firmware, and CI to integrate tooling into developer workflows and keep it production-ready
• Troubleshoot issues across tooling, pipelines, and source instrumentation, balancing correctness, maintainability, and scalability

• 5+ years of relevant software development experience
• Proficiency in modern C++ for embedded/firmware codebases
• Strong Python experience for tooling, automation, and data-processing workflows
• Experience building or improving CI pipelines for reliable releases
• Familiarity with logging/telemetry and data quality improvement from code to downstream
• Working knowledge of memory, threading/concurrency, and debugging
• Experience designing pragmatic internal tools or APIs with maintainability in mind
