Senior Software Engineer, Web Development – AI

In this Senior Software Engineer role, you contribute to a containerized, AI-enabled web platform serving Roku’s ads ecosystem. You’ll build scalable web applications and backend services that empower cross-functional teams to deliver valuable features to advertisers, publishers, and viewers. You’ll integrate AI-powered capabilities and RAG-based solutions to enhance chatbot interactions and enterprise tools. • Design, develop, and deliver modern web applications and back-end services
• Collaborate with a cross-functional team (UX, S/W, dev-ops, QA, PM)
• Integrate AI-powered features into web apps and enterprise tools
• Develop and optimize Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) solutions for chatbots
• Work independently and with teammates to prioritize feature delivery
• Participate in planning/refinement for innovative designs
• Write tests to ensure code quality
• Leverage CI/CD to meet quality and scalability requirements
• Improve software delivery processes and reduce waste
• End-to-end feature delivery from design to deployment
• Troubleshoot complex problems affecting users

• Extensive experience in JavaScript/TypeScript and modern web frameworks (React, Next.js, Angular, Node.js, Express) on cloud platforms (AWS and GCP)
• Experience building large-scale, low-latency distributed systems
• Solid understanding of algorithms, data structures, OOP, and performance optimization
• Experience with AI-assisted workflows and AI/ML APIs/SDKs
• Hands-on experience with RAG or LLMs for chatbots (preferred)
• Knowledge of CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins)
• Experience with GitLab and GitHub
• Experience with Jira and Confluence
• Strong Agile practices understanding
• Ability to estimate tasks and plan effectively
• Observability tools familiarity (Prometheus, Grafana) (preferred)
• Understanding of databases (SQL/NoSQL, caching, data access patterns)
• Track record of tuning performance and reliability of high-availability services
• Secure engineering practices awareness
• Bachelor or Master in Compute Science/Software Engineering or related field
