In this role you will own critical areas of the Unity Web runtime, from design to release, helping to push the boundaries of browser-based real-time 3D. You will optimize Web builds, reduce download size, and improve startup times, enabling games to load faster on diverse devices. You’ll tackle deep, cross-language challenges across C++, C#, and JavaScript, and collaborate with teams across Unity to ship platform work. This is a chance to shape how Unity runs inside the browser at scale and to mentor peers toward higher code quality. You will operate at the frontier of Web capabilities, delivering meaningful impact for developers and players alike.

- Own substantial areas of the Unity Web runtime from design through release
- Research and implement optimizations for the Web build target, including dead-code stripping and progressive asset loading
- Improve download size, load times, and startup performance for Web builds with measurable targets
- Solve low-level, cross-language problems across C++, C#, and JavaScript, including multi-threading parts of the runtime
- Collaborate with cross-team stakeholders to translate needs into platform work
- Mentor teammates and promote code quality standards
- Keep Unity at the forefront of evolving Web capabilities
- Deep, hands-on proficiency with C++ in performance-sensitive code
- Experience with WebAssembly, using Emscripten and/or LLVM
- Ability to decompose complex technical problems and act autonomously
- Experience profiling, debugging, and optimizing across native and browser boundaries
- Working knowledge of C# and JavaScript
- Strong written and verbal communication with peers and decision-makers
- Proven track record of mentoring engineers and elevating code quality
