Senior Software Quality Engineer

In this role you ensure software quality across the product lifecycle, collaborating with software, systems, regulatory, and quality teams to drive design quality and risk management. You’ll influence requirements, architecture, and verification activities to deliver safe, effective medical software. The position sits in the surgical operating unit within the new product development quality team, offering cross-functional impact and opportunities to shape patient-centered solutions. You will work onsite part-time to support regulatory readiness and continuous improvement.

• Support software quality activities across the full lifecycle from requirements to post-market support
• Collaborate with project teams to ensure compliance with procedures and regulatory requirements
• Provide early quality input on requirements, architecture, algorithms, and design reviews
• Review requirements, design, test results, and traceability for completeness and compliance
• Support software risk management activities (SFMEA, hazard analysis, risk mitigation)
• Assist verification and validation planning, execution, defect investigations, root cause analysis, CAPA
• Contribute to software configuration management, change control, and release readiness
• Support audits/regulatory readiness and monitor software quality metrics for process improvement
• Provide quality input on reliability, cybersecurity, usability, and other quality considerations throughout development

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Science, or a related technical field
• 3 to 7 years of experience in software quality, software development, verification and validation, or a related engineering/quality role
• Working knowledge of software development lifecycle activities
• Understanding of design controls, requirements traceability, verification and validation, and risk management
• Strong analytical, documentation, and problem-solving skills
• Effective communication across multiple functions and levels
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver on time
