Senior Software Systems Engineer

In this Senior Software Systems Engineer role you will shape and deliver software-enabled systems within a technically complex environment. You’ll own system architecture, requirements management, and verification across the engineering lifecycle to meet operational and customer needs. You’ll collaborate with engineers, customers and suppliers to bring capabilities from initial capture through integration and through-life support. The position emphasizes safety, quality and continuous improvement in a collaborative project team. • Support design, integration, testing and through-life support of software-enabled systems
• Develop and manage system requirements, architectures and interface definitions
• Maintain requirements traceability from capture through verification and validation
• Plan, execute and document system-level testing activities
• Produce and maintain technical specifications, test procedures, reports and other engineering documentation
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders, customers and suppliers to resolve technical challenges
• Contribute to technical reviews, project meetings and integrated engineering delivery activities
• Apply engineering best practice, lifecycle processes and regulatory requirements
• Promote safety, quality and continuous improvement across engineering activities
• Share technical knowledge and contribute to development of team capability
• Deliver work to agreed timescales, budgets and quality standards
• Undertake occasional UK and overseas travel

• Strong Systems Engineering background with experience on complex, software-intensive systems
• Experience across system architecture, requirements, interfaces, integration and verification
• Understanding of software lifecycles, architecture principles and configuration management
• Ability to develop, execute and document system-level tests
• Experience developing system requirements and maintaining traceability to testing and verification
• Knowledge of open architectures, modular system design and system interfaces
• Experience collaborating with customers, stakeholders and suppliers to deliver technical solutions
