Senior Solid Waste Data Analyst

Lead Databricks data engineering and business intelligence for the City of Vancouver’s Solid Waste division in a regular full-time role.

The Senior Solid Waste Data Systems Analyst leads data platform design, implementation, governance, and continuous improvement. You will develop data products, analytics solutions, and integrations supporting operational, financial, regulatory, and strategic needs. The role works with Technology Services and stakeholders across business, operational, technical, and leadership groups.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead Databricks warehouse, pipeline, and analytics solution development
• Define requirements and design scalable data products
• Create Power BI visualizations, analysis, and decision-support products
• Develop REST and SOAP integrations with business systems
• Present findings and maintain stakeholder relationships

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Computer Science or Information Technology
• Minimum five years’ related data warehousing and BI experience
• Minimum three years’ user engagement and requirements gathering experience
• Advanced Power BI, SQL, Python, Databricks, and data modeling skills
• Experience leading technical staff and full project lifecycles
