Overview

In this role you shape and own solution architectures for the API Lab, aligning with the technology strategy to accelerate delivery across multiple products and teams. You’ll partner with Product Owners, engineering leads, and enterprise architects to set roadmaps and drive platform-wide decisions. You’ll champion modern engineering practices while ensuring security, resilience and governance. This is a chance to contribute to a scalable, developer-centric API ecosystem at scale within a leading UK bank.

Responsibilities
  • Define and own solution architecture across the API Lab portfolio
  • Develop strategic architecture roadmaps aligned with business priorities and enterprise technology strategy
  • Drive architectural consistency across products, teams and engineering domains
  • Influence platform-wide decisions impacting thousands of developers
  • Shape long-term investment priorities and technology direction
  • Promote cloud-native design principles and modern engineering practices
  • Partner with Product Owners and Engineering Leads to align strategy, architecture, and delivery
  • Act as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders
  • Champion innovation while ensuring secure, resilient, and compliant solutions
Key requirements
  • Significant experience in Solution Architecture within large-scale enterprise environments
  • Proven track record delivering complex platform and digital transformation initiatives
  • Experience defining architecture strategy across multiple products and technology domains
  • Deep expertise in enterprise API ecosystems
  • Strong understanding of API operating models, governance, and lifecycle management
  • Experience influencing senior business and technology stakeholders
  • Strong knowledge of Architecture & Design (e.g. TOGAF, Domain-Driven Design)
  • Strong knowledge and practical experience of: GCP, Harness, Apigee, KONG, Developer Portal, API Ecosystem, Security, SRE
  • Influence and stakeholder management
