Senior Solutions Engineer

Overview

In this role you partner with clients across your territory to translate technical value into business outcomes using the Databricks Data Intelligence Platform. You work with cross-functional teams to evaluate, design, and demonstrate scalable data and AI solutions, helping customers solve complex data challenges. You’ll build a trusted advisory relationship, contribute to the technical community, and grow toward independent Solution Architect ownership. This position blends hands-on technical work with pre-sales influence to drive customer success.

Responsibilities

• Build successful client relationships to deliver technical and business value alongside Account Executives and Senior Solutions Architects
• Lead hands-on evaluations and Spark programming, integrating with cloud ecosystems and third-party apps
• Contribute to the Databricks technical community via workshops, seminars, and meet-ups
• Serve as a Big Data Analytics advisor on architecture and design decisions
• Author reference architectures, how-tos, and demo apps to support customer adoption
• Develop technical skills and pre-sales capabilities with the aim of becoming an independently operating Solutions Architect

• Experience in Data Science / Generative AI / Machine Learning / Data Warehousing or Data Engineering in a client-facing context
• Pre-sales or post-sales experience with external clients
• Ability to articulate customer pain points and align on business value to build trust
• Proficiency in Python, Java, or Scala
• Knowledge of Big Data Analytics domain with exposure to proofs-of-concept and major public cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure)
• Experience in solution architecture and design
• Willingness to travel UK-based customer sites (~20–30%)
• Nice to have: Databricks Certification
