Overview

As a Senior Solutions Engineer at Databricks, you independently lead technical engagements, from discovery to platform demos, to drive adoption. You combine coding, architecture, and presentation to shape customer solutions and showcase Databricks differentiation. You will manage frontline customer relationships and work with account teams to craft technical strategies that expand platform usage. You tackle data engineering, analytics, and ML workloads with hands-on demos and reusable assets, influencing technical decisions and adoption at scale.

Responsibilities
  • Lead technical discovery and solution design for customer workloads across data engineering, analytics, and ML
  • Build and deliver proofs-of-concept and live demos on the Databricks Platform to win technical buys
  • Own frontline technical relationships with customer engineers, data teams, and technical leads
  • Develop account-level technical strategies with Account Executive to grow platform consumption
  • Differentiate Databricks through hands-on demonstrations in competitive contexts
  • Contribute reusable technical assets (notebooks, accelerators, reference architectures) to the SA community
Key requirements
  • 4+ years in data engineering, solutions architecture, technical pre-sales, or hands-on consulting
  • Proficient in Python and SQL with production-quality coding, including live coding in interviews
  • Hands-on data solutions experience on at least one public cloud (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
  • Knowledge of distributed data systems: Apache Spark, Delta Lake, or equivalents
  • Experience leading technical customer conversations – discovery, whiteboarding, architecture reviews
  • Familiarity with data engineering (ETL/ELT, medallion architecture, streaming) or data science/ML or SQL analytics
  • Strong presentation and demo skills for live solution delivery during interviews
  • Bachelor in Computer Science (or related quantitative discipline) or equivalent experience
