£45,000-55,000 per annum An employer in Stoke-on-Trent is hiring for a Senior SQL Developer to lead the companys SQL server environment. The position is responsible for supervising the development and improvement of database solutions and acting as the authority on SQL server technologies. You will work with the IT team, development management and stakeholders, providing solutions to business requirements and ensuring the companys strategic objectives are met. Key responsibilities include: Utilise the Microsoft SQL Server platform to ensure database-solutions are consistently reliable and high-performing Promote best practices and coding standards, alongside mentoring junior developers Improve existing databases and systems to increase scalability, security, efficiency and maintainability Modify and comprehensively test database objects Provide technical leadership from design to deployment of database solutions Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues as they arise, and ensure change requests are delivered within agreed timeframes Stay up to date with emerging database technologies and suggest improvements when necessary Gain an in depth understanding of business requirements through collaboration with stakeholders, analysts and software developers
Essential experience: 7+ years of experience with SQL Working with high-volume transactional database environments ETL development using SSIS or equivalent Database upgrades and migrations Excellent analytical and communication skills Demonstrates taking ownership and accountability when delivering projects to a high standard and meeting deadlines Experience with High Availability and Disaster Recovery technologies, including Always On Availability Groups, Log Shipping and Replication Proven ability to troubleshoot and optimise SQL performance, including query tuning, execution plans, locking and deadlocks
