Overview

In this Senior Systems Engineer role, you will lead systems engineering across complex defence and security programmes, focusing on autonomous and robotic systems. You’ll work within the Future Systems team at PTP Portsmouth to integrate and test software-enabled systems on crewed and uncrewed platforms. You’ll collaborate with customers and multidisciplinary teams to deliver innovative, system‑of‑systems solutions that provide operational advantage to MOD customers. Responsibilities
  • Lead systems engineering activities across complex defence and security projects
  • Support integration, testing and validation of software-enabled systems and trial rigs
  • Provide technical support during operational trials and experimentation
  • Collaborate with customers and stakeholders to deliver systems-of-systems solutions
  • Support crewed and uncrewed platforms across maritime and defence environments
  • Produce high-quality technical documentation and engineering evidence
Key requirements
  • Strong Systems Engineering experience in complex engineering, defence or safety-critical environments
  • Experience with integrated systems or systems-of-systems
  • Knowledge of system testing, trials, verification or validation
  • Understanding of software-enabled systems and networking concepts
  • Experience engaging with customers, stakeholders and multidisciplinary teams
  • Ability to assess technical changes and produce clear engineering documentation
